Nick removes his shades as he approaches the office space that Bubbles just "had" to show him.  He couldn't pretend he was happy with the idea of her setting up shop to challenge him in court, but that conversation had been on going since she announced she'd be the new defense attorney for the good folks of Mystic Cove.  Tucking the shades in his jacket pocket, he narrowed his eyes and peered through the window.  He could hear the loud clanking of Alice's heels behind him and he smirked slightly as he saw the cobble stone thinking how funny it would be if her heel should get caught in them.  Though knowing her she probably had 100 other pair to replace them. "Looks good." he muttered as he glanced down the block.

Ɓυввℓєѕ  could sense the disapproval in Nick's voice as he gave her new office the once over. It wasn't going to be easy going up against him in court, she just hoped that they would be able to leave the arguments in the court room and not take their work home with them. But right now, she was excited. This was her first independent real job since graduating law school and she just wanted him to be happy for her. She would attempt to curl her pinky around his and give him a little nudge with her shoulder. Flashing him one of her cheeky grins that she reserved for when she was trying to cheer him up or break him out of a bad mood. "My own space baby, I feel like a real grown up!" She chuckled softly to herself and glanced back over her shoulder at Nick's assistant, giving a little jerk of her chin. "What do you think, Alice?"

Alice was walking lazily behind her boss not really paying attention to much. She was glancing at her nails watching them sparkle in the light even though she still didn't like the sun too much. Her kind had grown out of that over the years but her eyes were sensitive to light still as she blinked putting on a pair of shades. Almost tripping on the stone, she jerked slightly but quickly caught her balance sighing. "Ugh what are we doing out here boss??" Groans and drew her eyes over to the bubbly Fae. She flashed her own fangs unable to resist showing them to her. "Divine Ma'am.."

Nick felt Bubbles pinky hook on his and the nudge was enough to jerk him out of his mood.  After all, why shouldn't he be happy for her?  She was always supportive of him.  He managed to curl the corner of his mouth in an amused fashion, then leaned over to plant a kiss on her neck just below her ear. "Congrats babe, you're now an adult."  His expression changed when he glanced behind him at Alice who was as blunt and vocal as usual. "We're here to help Bubbles get moved into her new place.  You know, be supportive, besides we have no cases at the moment, this gives us a chance to get out and enjoy the warm sunlight - hell bask in it, don't that feel 'divine'?"  He used her own word and tossed it back at her while flashing a grin then motioned to the door, "So open it up, let's get started."

Ɓυввℓєѕ raised her eyebrow a little as Alice lifted her lip to show her fangs. She tried not to give much of a reaction and turned her attention back to the office front. What exactly was the purpose of Alice's action? Was it some kind of warning, snarling at her ? or was she merely trying to make it clear exactly what she was ? It's not as if Bubbles didn't KNOW Alice was a vampire. She'd sensed it, and Alice didn't exactly make a secret of it, even on the very few occasions that they'd encountered each other. She grinned as Nick kissed her neck and chuckled again as he congratulated her on her adulthood, before pulling out the keys to her newly rented property and turning them in the lock with an excited grin. Pushing the door open and stepping inside. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, as if breathing in a "new car smell", but all she took in was dust and pinewood. She turned behind her and held the door open, for Nick and Alice to enter.

Alice looks up at the place tilting her head while listening to him and growled snapping her teeth at him. "Amusing as ever boss..." She grumbled nodding her head figuring she'd might as well pretend to be excited and put on a wider smile. "Alright yes it looks great, very stylish I suppose for this place." Flipped her hair over her shoulder making sure it still looked good. "Congratulations Ma'am.." She could smell the Fae's blood but she kept her hunger in check and walked passed her quickly into the room. "Very spacious actually.."

Nick stepped into the office and looked around, almost laughing at Bubbles taking a big whiff of...dust?  Noted Alice's attitude and he glanced at her with a look of warning form his pale eyes before he turned ot the window to look out at the bay.  The water sparkled nicely in the daylight and he unconsciously pressed his forehead to the cool pane of glass and closed his eyes briefly. "We're going to need to get a glass guy down here to get a logo on this window.  Alice, make yourself useful and call up a glass guy. I'll help with all the heavy lifting."

Ɓυввℓєѕ wrinkled her nose a little, trying to dislodge the dust that she'd inhaled. Trying to ignore Nick's assistant's almost snide remarks she just smiled sweetly toward her, "Thank you Alice..." Watching Nick she smiled to herself as she saw him look out over the water. She knew how he loved a sea view. "Yeah i think the logo would look great up there!!" She reached for the door again and swung it open, hooking it back and propping it open so they could start shifting the furniture in from the van she'd had the NPC movers park outside. She didn't have much furniture yet but she'd bought a few essentials to start with. "Good job we have a big strong man here huh" she motioned toward Nick with a grin.

Alice keeping her shades on, Alice saw the warning look and was tempted to roll her own blue eyes but refrained. "As you wish.." Pulling out her cell phone; she swiped in the numbers for the local glass man and told him what they needed along with the address. "He'll be over in an 20 minutes to get your ideas and such." Dropping her phone back in her purse she felt the weight of the cuffs and grumbled quietly to herself. She should've been used to them by now but they still aggravated her. Hearing Bubbles she actually chuckled. "Strong...suuureee." She could tease to when she felt like it but sometimes it could pass for being bitchy.

Nick didn't listen to the idle chatter as he thought on what he needed to do and all the things he'd been putting off.  He had wanted to meet up with the police chief and a few other public service people and test the water.  He need to know what the feel of the place was and which attitudes he'd be encountering.  He was always in lawyer mode of course, wanting to know who he could rely on and who would give him an issue in court when calling on witnesses etc. but he also wanted to know how others handled the presence of the supernaturals.  He was calculating - always.  It was part of his personality and made him good at what he did. "You know, you should also look into getting me a sit down, pow wow type meeting with whoever the police chief is.  Oh and call us in a reservation at that sushi place for lunch."  He opened his eyes and straightened up, making himself presentable as the movers brought the stuff in.

Ɓυввℓєѕ raised an eyebrow again at Alice's sarcasm, this time she made it slightly more obvious than before. She wasn't sure about this girl. Never really had been, but Nick seemed to have her "under control". She couldn't help herself but to retort, "Well we could always leave you to do the lifting... but sure we wouldn't want to you break a nail!" She scoffed at Alice and turned to Nick, rolling her eyes before stepping out on to the sidewalk making way for the movers to haul the furniture into her new office. She took a look up and down the street, taking in the store fronts nearby trying to acquaint herself with her surroundings and figure out who would be her neighbors. A courier right next door, that would be useful. And a radio station. She made a mental note to herself to pop in and speak to them about some kind of advertisement for her office. Her ears perked up at the talk of lunch, looking back in at Nick. "Yeah lunch... Lunch definitely sounds good, I'm famished!" She shot another look toward Alice  on her final word, hoping she would take it as the dig that it was meant as, knowing the smell of her Fae blood must be driving Alice crazy.

Alice rolls her eyes this time behind her shades digging out her phone once again to place some phone calls. "Yes Sir.." Starts chatting on her phone to help promote and get her boss some clients; then made their reservation to the sushi restaurant. While still on the phone, she heard Bubbles remark and glared extending her fangs again letting out a low rumble in her throat. "Hm? Oh nothing just an animal growling nearby...no worries it's in a fence.." She covered up with a lie on the phone. Hangs up calming herself to not piss off her boss by hissing at his girlfriend or whatever. "The calls have been made Sir..." Cutting her eyes back to the Fae. "Lunch will be ready when you get there..."

Nick tuned Alice out as she made the calls and he was hoping the distraction would get the women's minds off of killing each other but as the remarks continues, along with the hissing and dirty looks, he stepped up behind Alice as she announced their reservations and, putting his lips close to her ear, he grinned wickedly then spoke in quiet but threatening manner, "We're not going to have to 'review' our manners and behavior again are we?  Because if so I must warn you it's not going to be pleasant for you." He gave her ass a pat then, making it harder then an average pat, it was more of a smack to punctuate his comment.  He then winked at Bubbles, "So where would you like me to move the stuff?"

Ɓυввℓєѕ smirked to herself a little as she noticed Alice's response to her remark. Knowing she'd taken it exactly how it was meant. Watching the movers shift the furniture into the office, her eyes lifted as Nick stepped up behind Alice. Snarling a little but hoping she kept it hidden, not wanting her reaction to be seen. She hated seeing him so close to other women, Especially bloodsuckers like Alice. And seeing him so close to Alice, even if it was to berate her, AND seeing him touching her ass made Bubbles want to physically throw her through the window. Her mouth curled to a grin when NIck winked at her, melting her as he always did, and knowing he'd stepped in, in her defense, she relaxed her shoulders a little and cast her eyes over the office, trying to visualize where she wanted the furniture to go. Pondering for a minute before responding to Nick. "Maybe have the desk over near the window. Not too close tho, and at an angle so I can look out. And.. the filing cabinets along the back wall... What do you think, baby?" She really had no idea how to properly decorate an office, seeing as this was her first one.

Alice froze feeling her boss go into hunter mode which made her body feel even colder than usual. Even though she didn't have to do the things humans did anymore, she physically gulped nodding her head. "Y-Yes...Sir..forgive me...for my manners and attitude.." Jumps not expecting the smack and almost fell over her heels, trying to compose herself quickly from the embarrassing gesture. Putting her fangs back to regular teeth, Alice stayed quiet for the moment. Listening to the Fae she glanced around the room picturing everything as she glided out the way to let the movers in. "You'll need a waiting area...if that helps..and maybe a coffee and snack table while they wait.."

Nick was pleased when Alice changed her attitude, then moved to help his girl figure things out.  He had a twinge of guilt jealousy when he realized the freedom she had with an office of her own and he looked around and considered moving his office out of the courthouse and maybe into a space like Bubbles'. "You know, I think we should move, what do you think Alice?  How'd you like getting away from that stuffy courthouse?"

Ɓυввℓєѕ smirked a little as it was evident from Alice's sudden helpfulness, that Nick's quiet words had done the trick. And in fairness, she was grateful for the advice so she smiled politely and nodded her head. "That's a great idea, thanks Alice. Maybe I'll make a space for a second desk too, in case I decide to get myself an assistant..." The last sentence was more of a thought to herself than anyone else, but still she said it out loud. Not that she had a need for an assistant right now. She had no cases so wasn't exactly snowed under. She took a step back to let Nick past as he came to help her but leaned in to nip at his ear and steal a kiss as he brushed past her. Grinning at him. Directing him where she wanted her furniture, having him shift it to various places around the office before she settled on what looked best, "Man, it's thirsty work watching you do all this lifting !" She giggled to herself. "WHen is our reservation for?" She turned toward Alice as if directing her question to the assistant. The dust in the office was beginning to get to her and she needed some air.

Alice blinked staring to her boss over her glasses. "Beats being around all those idiots all day...count me in." She nods in agreement watching the place coming together slowly but surely. "Alot of freedom without people bothering me wondering if this is the office to get a marriage license.." Shakes her head and jolted at the thank you from Bubbles but just bowed her head so slightly. "You are welcome." Her skin twitched at the word thirsty and took a deep breath even if she had no need for the action but it calmed her. "It...is in thirty minutes Ma'am.." It was rather stuffy and the place needed to air out or get a fan placed up.

Nick forgot about the decorating and other things as he made a bee line for the door, hi stride determined as he slipped the shades from his jacket and put them back on.  Avoiding colliding with one of the movers, he nearly stumbled, scuffing his shoe and he cursed before he knelt to examine the damage.  "Fuck of all the damn luck..." Rising once more he made his way down the block, checking out the offices to see if there was another available.  He hadn't excused himself or explained his actions, he just wandered out.  It was his way.

Ɓυввℓєѕ raised an eyebrow as Nick hurried out the door like a man with a mission. She rolled her eyes and had a pretty good idea what he was up to. He was unstoppable once he got an idea in his head, and no only unstoppable but impatient also. She head towards the door to follow him and motioned for Alice to do the same. Just about catching a glimpse of him as he made his way into a building at the end of the street. Yep, he was checking out offices, just as she thought he would be. She rolled her eyes again, grinning to herself. "My determined, stubborn man" she thought to herself. As she made her way up the steps of the building Nick had entered, she turned to Alice who was following behind her, "Looks like we're gonna be neighbors then...... "

Alice tried not to chuckle watching her boss stumble because of a mover and just smiled alittle finding it amusing. "I could find a local shoe repair store Sir..if you'd like." Hurries behind the Fae, now focusing on where she stepped making sure not to trip on the stone again. She had no problem running in heels if she had to. Watching them go into a vacant building, she scoped the place out squinting. "It's nicely built...second floor as well..good find Boss.." Takes her sunglasses off this time since it wasn't so bright in the building.

Kᴀᴅᴀʀ ᴀʟ-Mᴀʜᴀᴍᴏᴛɪ  looked up in time to see.... people? Strange. Nobody really hung out in this part of town. That was part of the appeal, so he could broadcast his music in relative peace. He slipped out the door of his station, trailing the persons just as they got inside the building next door. Fucksocks. That meant neighbors. As he approached the building, he was chanting in his head, PleaseBeNicePeoplePleaseBeNicePeoplePleaseBeNicePeople until he reached the bottom of the steps. "Hello!" He called out, his voice rebounding up the bricks.

Nick looks the place over, even jogging up the stairs to catch the view from there.  When he saw Bubbles and Alice approach, he made his way back downstairs, removing his shades once more. "I like it...Alice call up the Realtor and get us in this spot. We won't have much to move since he haven't really moved into the courthouse-" He paused in his order giving to look to the guy who was shouting up at them.  Peering out the front door, he made it appoint to appear welcoming by plastering on a smile and display a warm attitude which he had perfected, though it was hardly natural for him. "Greetings!"

Ɓυввℓєѕ walked around the building, peering out through the windows at the back, making her way up the stairs and back again. "I like it babe, it's nice.... bigger than mine tho..." She feigned a pout at him as she teased him. Then she heard the voice behind them. It made her jump a little and she felt her shoulders tense up. She was always a little wary of new people, who they could be and how much they knew. She'd managed to live as a "human" for 6 years but now Nick had found out her secret, it made her wonder who else might be able to and what the repercussions might be. There were plenty of hunters around after all. She stepped close to Nick as she peered out of the door, shielding her eyes with her hand from the glare of the sun off of the water, just able to make out a muscular silhouette. Attempting to slip her hand in to Nick's, she replied meekly, "hi there." With a polite smile.

Alice hearing her boss she nodded pulling out her phone again knowing they'd be late for their reservation. "As you wish Sir." She made the call talking on the phone when she twitched hearing a stranger's voice and leaned her head back to glance out the window to see the male standing there. Hearing the fake cheeriness from her boss, she smiled as well but with normal teeth waving at him. Taking note of Bubbles uneasiness, she grinned a little more but stayed polite after hanging up. "We've got the place Boss.." She glanced back out the window staring at the man.

Kᴀᴅᴀʀ ᴀʟ-Mᴀʜᴀᴍᴏᴛɪ  chuckled, flattered that the man was at least making an effort to seem friendly. Kadar wasn't entirely buying it, but it was neither here nor there. "Just wanted to say hello and welcome to the neighborhood. Name's Kadar- I run the radio station next door. If you and your friends need anything, don't hesitate to ask. My door's always open." He took to leaning on the railing, looking up at the building, deciding he'd hang around for just a little bit. It was then he noticed the ladies with the man. He reached up to pull down his aviator sunglasses just enough to look over the top rim, looking at them each in turn for a long moment. He lingered on the woman who formed the meek reply, and he didn't bother hiding his smirk. He obviously knew something, but he wasn't telling. Looking back at the man, "Fresh off the boat, new to the island?" Though he already suspected he knew the answer.

Nick paused in his reply, noticing the stranger checking out the women and his fingers tangled with Bubbles as he moved to open the door and jerk his chin in a motion inviting the guy up, "You could say that Kadar.  Good to meet you, I'm Nick Courtois the new prosecuting attorney, this beautiful red head is my girl Bubbles and the floozy is my assistant Alice, though what she actually does hasn't been established.  Please, come on up."  His voice was controlled and pleasant, the voice he used in the courtroom that worked to warm people to him.

Ɓυввℓєѕ nodded and smiled politely again at Kadar as Nick motioned him into the building. "Good to meet you." She spoke softly. Still a little tense and keeping her wits about her, squeezing a little at Nick's hand without realizing it. She wasn't the most sociable of people. Liked to keep herself to herself, mostly because she didn't trust anyone. Anyone but Nick that is, but she guessed she better make nice with the neighbors, especially if she had any hope of running a successful business as a lawyer DEFENDING the people that she avoided socializing with. She smirked at her own thoughts and continued to smirk at Nick's remarks about Alice as she stepped back out of the way to allow room for Kadar to enter.

Alice raised an eyebrow as the man now known as Kadar glanced at her then Bubbles. Hearing her boss she grumbled and pulled her phone out to keep from saying something completely rude to him. "Nice to meet you Kadar..." She was tempted to let her fangs out but for the moment stayed polite. Readjusting her outfit not wanting to look too floozy as her boss put it, but to no avail.

ᴀᴅᴀʀ ᴀʟ-Mᴀʜᴀᴍᴏᴛɪ  laughed gently as he ascended the stairs with a sort of masculine grace that was uncommon for someone his size and stature. His posture suggested he was an accomplished dancer, but his voice suggested he was a DJ while his hands suggested he was a musician. Perhaps a triple threat in his field? "Pleasure's all mine, Nick. A lawyer, huh? And a prosecutor to boot. Man after my own heart- knows the taste of blood in the water." He flashed a grin that, along with his other traits, suggested he spent a lot of time around people. "Sorry I'm kinda under-dressed. I like to feel at home in the radio station when I'm working." The apology was merely a formality, as there was no actual remorse in his words. As he entered, "Bubbles, Alice, a pleasure to meet you both." He stopped to look at Alice's hair, shaking his head. "Ugh. You pull that color off entirely too well. I'm jealous." Whispering loudly, "If you really are a floozy, hit me up. I know all the best cruising spots in the red light district. Get some group action going." He winked and turned to look at Bubbles. "I'll be damned. Madam, you chose the wrong profession if you're into law too. You're too couture- you need to be on the cover of Vogue or something." He brushed his fingers through his dark hair as he looked at the building they were all in. "This place has been sitting empty for years. Not sure why, since there's nothing wrong with it. You do have a view of the no-tell motel, but that can be fixed with curtains...."

Nick watched the man enter and toss around compliments and suggestions.  He wasn't sure what his impression was of the guy, but he wasn't going to put any more thought into it at them moment.  "You know you might be useful for my girl here, she's going to need to advertise her service. I'm fortunate, I don't need to go looking for losers to defend, i just get to toss their asses in jail."  He glanced at Alice, giving her a wink, knowing his comment probably got to her but it amused him more then anything else. "We're going to need get some furniture ordered and delivered, but don't use the guys who delivered Bubbles stuff, I don't want to have to be buying shoes daily."

Ɓυввℓєѕ watched the man glide up the stairs toward the entrance and took another step back, having previously underestimated his build and now seeing he would probably need more space to squeeze his muscular frame past her and Nick. She kept a firm grip on Nick's hand and glanced up at him as Kadar entered. He had an heir of confidence about him and seemed like he was no stranger to Mystic cove. She smirked a little as he suggested the red light district to Ava and her expression changed to a shy blush as he turned his attention to her, paying her compliments. Giggling shyly, she stepped back a little more, almost behind Nick and looked toward the floor as she thanked him, "That's very kind of you, Thank you!" She always surprised herself at how different she was out of court to what she was in court. Bold, confident, determined. That's how she carried herself in a court room, and for the most part, she was confident out of the court room too, but not as bold. She tended to shy away from people and keep them at arms length, except for Nick of course. And as much as she appreciated Kadar's compliments, she'd met many people in the past who came across just the same, people pleasers, flatterers, manipulater. Not to say Kadar was one of those, but she wasn't going to take any chances and rush into trusting a person based on a little first meeting flattery. She rolled her eyes at Nick's comment about finding losers to defend but decided not to start THAT discussion again in the presence of a new acquaintance. It was a discussion they'd had many times in the past. She smirked a little at Nick's comment about his shoes, knowing he wasn't going to let that one go any time soon then turn her attention to Kadar. "Yes... I'll definitely need some advertising.."

Alice enjoyed the compliment to her hair choice smiling brightly but it faltered snorting alittle pouting when he talked of red light districts. "I appreciate the compliment Sir Kadar...and that does sound tempting but I am not a floozy as my boss likes to think.." She cuts her eyes to him then back to Kadar quickly putting a smile back on. "It is a nice view though..and of course so is the ocean." She teased at the man being shirtless. She could feel the blood flowing in his veins and it made her even hungrier but sighed counting in her head to calm down. It wasn't feeding time yet and it was still daylight so she'd have to wait. With no shades to hide behind she rolled her eyes at her boss' comment, mimicing what he said but while looking out the window. "Yes Sir..." Puts in an order with the best furniture store in town giving them specifics on what they would need and confirmed hanging up. "It will be delivered in an hour..they need time to get all the items you need.." Almost whistled as Kadar's frame actually came into view, seeing the tattoos and his height he was a looker that's for sure.

Kᴀᴅᴀʀ ᴀʟ-Mᴀʜᴀᴍᴏᴛɪ  nodded, "Useful's one of my favorite things to be, so that'll work." He said, grinning as he joined in the teasing. "I like the thought of them getting tossed in jail... you know, I've always wondered what it would be like to have a captive audience... I submitted a request to the council to have speakers installed in all the jail cells... boost their morale while they're doing their time...At least, that's what it says on paper." He grinned and looked back at Bubbles, "You're quite welcome, but it's true. Vogue, I'm telling you..." He trailed off with a laugh before looking back at Alice. If she could smell what passed for blood within him, it was probably reminiscent of ash molten rock. "Not a floozy? Oh, you're missing out..." He grinned at the compliment but let it pass. Yeah, he knew he was pretty. "They're usually pretty quick about deliveries on the island. You can walk all the way around the shore in less than a day... Small place. Now if you want something  from the mainland, it'll take a little longer. It has to be flown or ferried across the pond out there." He turned back around to face them once more. "So since you three are new to the island, I'm going to take you all under my wing. There's events, parties, social suaree's.... Radio's got its fingers in many pu-" He recovered quickly, "Pies. Many pies. So I'll have to drag you all along with me. It'll be good for business and it'll make me look cool for being friends with newcomers so quickly."

Nick nodded as he listened to the new guy then wandered upstairs not saying anything as he did so.  Rude?  Most people saw it that way, but it usually meant something else got into his head and he was determined ot get to the problem as soon as he could. "Yeah yeah, sounds great," he finally muttered at the top of the steps before vanishing from the small group.
